Isopredone( A pregnancy safe glucocorticoid) injection
Safopredone contains isopredone. The glucocorticoid isopredone activity is approximately 50 times that of hydrocortisone and 10 times that of prednisolone and 67 times that of cortisone.
The drug use intramuscular and intrasynovial injection, it metabolizes in liver and change to inactive lipids. Glucocorticoid inhibits macrophage response to migration inhibiting factor, sensitization of lymphocytes and cellular response to mediators of inflammation.

Safopredone is available in 10- and 100-mL vials.
Safopredone is administered by deep intramuscular injection for systemic effect, or into joint cavity, tendon sheath or bursa for local effect. The usual intramuscular dose for cattle is 10 to 20 mg, according to the size of the animal and severity of the condition. The dose may be repeated in 12 to 24 hours if indicated.
As with all parenteral products, aseptic technique should be used to reduce the possibility of postinjection bacterial infections. Animals intended for human consumption should not be slaughtered within 7 days of last treatment. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal.
